Marina Romea's moment came in 1952, when construction began on a coastal road to connect the Candiano Canal with Porto Corsini. At the same time, planning and subdivision of the area got underway. The name was chosen through a contest.
Marina Romea is located along the road that connects to the SS 309 - the so-called Romea - leading to Venice. It winds through pine forests down to the sea and the golden beach, which, incidentally, is the widest along the entire coast. It is a green oasis of peace and tranquility, featuring beautiful villas and hotels surrounded by lush greenery.

A distinctive feature of the area are the fishermen's huts built on stilts in the sea, from which they lower their nets into the water. Marina Romea has a small harbor, modern fitness and sports facilities, and, above all, a riding school with an indoor arena.
