Riccione

Emilia Romagna

Along with Rimini, it is one of the most popular and most-visited seaside resorts on the Adriatic: Riccione - six kilometers of beach offer the pure essence of an Adriatic vacation.

The 150-meter-wide beach slopes gently into the sea, making it ideal for children and families. Riccione is also very popular among young people - sun, beach, fun, and the sea. Riccione is a household name among beach volleyball players, as it hosts Europe's largest beach volleyball camp, the Beachline Festival, during the week after Easter.

This charming little town (approx. 35,000 residents) also offers plenty to do, such as its many fashion boutiques, where you can browse and shop to your heart's content.
A special treat for our younger guests: Aquafan - Europe's largest water park, covering an area of 100,000 m², with water slides totaling 3 km in length!

From Duce to Disco

A Short Story

An interesting side note: In the early 1930s, Mussolini discovered Riccione for himself. His wife, Donna Rachele, bought a villa here to spend the summer months by the sea. And so, between the two world wars, many prominent politicians and statesmen came to Riccione.
The stretch of the Romagna coast from Rimini to Cattolica owes its tourism boom to Mussolini. The Villa Mussolini became home to Italy's first museum dedicated to tourism and its development.

After WWII, tourism - which had begun in the late 19th century - grew even further, as several celebrities, such as Pelé, Mina, Ugo Tognazzi, and Sophia Loren's sister, enjoyed vacationing in Riccione.

Today, Riccione is less about politics and more about sun, beach, sea, relaxation, and: Disco Disco! In the lively nightlife scene, you can dance and party until the early morning hours in various bars, discos, and nightclubs.
