During the peak season from May to October, Rimini is bustling with activity. The town with the highest concentration of hotels in Italy is famous, infamous, and well-known for its lively nightlife.
Outside the historic city center, Rimini is a sprawling coastal town (and thus the largest seaside resort on the Italian Adriatic). Hotel after hotel lines the streets. Essentially, the city of Rimini consists of 10 districts, starting with Torre Pedrera in the north and ending with Miramare in the south.
In addition to plenty of beach fun, you won't be disappointed if you're looking for culture in Rimini (the famous director Federico Fellini, for example, was born there). For those who prefer to shop away from the crowds, Rimini and the surrounding towns offer several weekly markets as well as popular shopping malls.
Hotels, vacation rentals, shops, cafés, bars, pizzerias, restaurants, arcades, and nightclubs are scattered throughout the city. And everywhere is just a short walk from the wide sandy beach. For physical fitness, there are numerous sports options: many fitness centers and other facilities right on the beach, as well as a sailing school, boat rentals, opportunities for water skiing, windsurfing, diving, tennis, soccer, horseback riding, or rollerblading.
In the wider area around the city, there are also golf courses, and in Misano Adriatico, 15 km away, there is a large go-kart center. Beach services are available for a fee; there are a few free sections, and of course, dog-friendly beaches as well.
