Lignano Zoo

Punta Verde Zoo

Park, Lignano

If you don't want to just lie in the sun all day, or if you want to give your kids a welcome change of pace, this is the place for you: the zoo near Lignano.

From the African ostrich to the white-necked crane, there's an impressive array of animals here, including some you've probably never heard of. Or do you know what a fennec fox is? Or a capybara? (It looks funny, by the way).

The zoo is very thoughtfully designed and offers a number of truly interesting educational trails (which is why it is a popular destination for school groups), helping to instill an appreciation for nature, its beauty, and its diversity in even the youngest visitors.

Please note: Do not bring any animals into the zoo. However, dogs can be left in care free of charge.

Unfortunately, the zoo's website is no longer available in German, but the zoo's own video channel (YouTube) features numerous videos.
