And perhaps one of the most beautiful as well: the Grand Canal, just 3.5 km long and imbued with an enchanting atmosphere, thanks in no small part to the numerous palaces that line its banks. The Grand Canal offers the most comfortable of all museum visits, so to speak, because you can simply cruise right through it on a vaporetto.
Each of the 200 palaces - and only art historians are capable of expressing themselves this way - is in itself a genuine, truly "syntactic link" that stands in close linguistic connection with the canal and with the entire city surrounding it. The canal flows between the palaces and engages in a colorful dialogue with them.
